[Diego] I've eaten things that didn't complain this much.

I should probably start this review with saying that I am not a Terry Pratchett fan. That is not to say that I think his books are bad, more that I am indiffirent to them altogether. There were a few books I found interesting, but then there was at least one other that I put down after a few pages and never read again (funnily enough, this last book seems to be exactly "The Truth", as, when the play started, I recognised all lines during the first few minutes, and everything after that was completely new).
Nevertheless I really wanted to see this performance. Firstly, simply out of curiosity - as I said, some of Pratchett's texts do appeal to me. Secondly, a good friend of mine is a great Pratchett fan, so we thought it would be a good idea to have a girlie night out. I must say I never regretted it!
It was an excellent and very entertaining piece of work. Pretty much all of the actors did a great job, with James Utechin (Otto the vampire photographer) deserving a special prise for playing the most memorable part. Actually, I must say it is often very easy (and tempting!) to overplay such parts, and I am happy to say that this was not the case here. I was also quite amused to hear that his character was portrayed exactly how he was described in the book. In fact, it seems that pretty much everybody's character was spot on. With the exception (as knowledgeable people told me) of Lord Vetinari (Calum Mitchell) who was supposed to be way more powerful. Whether this is true or not, I cannot say, but irrespectively of this we had great fun and (even though I am still not a Pratchett fan) will be looking forward to next year's production!
